Organizers for Saturday's Clay County Humane Society's "Partner-N-Paws Radio-thon" fundraiser at the Brazil National Guard Armory have planned several fun and inexpensive activities for families to participate in and raise money for a good cause.
"It's going to be a full day of fun," Director Michael Sorrels told The Brazil Times about the event which starts at noon.
The Crock 92.7 FM radio station is providing free entertainment during the telethon that will have several volunteer operators available to accept pledges from people who call 446-5126.
The goal is to get 500 partners who will agree to pledge $10 a month for a year (or make a one-time donation of $120) to support the shelter during these difficult economic times.
"We'd be good as gold if we reached the target goal of $60,000," Sorrels said. "We could take care of all the animals without any problems. But, in all honesty, any amount will be greatly appreciated."
