What do Caterpillar and John Deere have in common? Besides being America's two biggest makers of heavy equipment, they have both announced huge increases in expenses due to ObamaCare. Wednesday, Caterpillar made official its estimate of $100 million in increased costs for 2011, though they will take the charge this year. Yesterday, John Deere said it will face an additional $150 million in increased costs for 2010 in order to comply with the Democrats' assault on America's health care and health insurance systems, eliminating about 11% of the company's profits for the year.
And that's just the first two big companies to announce the impact of ObamaCare, and just for one provision of the bill. Keep in mind that these charges represent the sorts of increased costs that the companies would face with every new employee, giving them strong incentive -- 250 million incentives just for starters -- to avoid hiring in America. Also, note that these tax hikes relate to Medicare Part D. Although Part D, which provides prescription drug coverage to seniors, is an unconstitutional function of government and has an unfunded liability roughly equal Source
Later model SX95s had an electric shutoff solenoid in the carburator. If yours has it, check its operation. It should click open each time you turn the key on. If you have fuel into the cylinder and it won’t start, check the compression by putting your finger over the spark plug hole and turn engine to see if it will push your finger off the hole. If not, it could have a stuck valve. Let me know.
Problem has to be fuel, spark, or timing. How did the problem start? When did the engine last run? Does it have the fuel solenoid? Do you have good solid spark with the plug grounded in test? If you have good spark, put fuel in the spark plug hole and see if it will run for few seconds. If it does ,you know it is fuel and need to concentrate on the carburetor and intake.
I checked the spark by arcing off the metal engine cowl. I don’t know if it has a fuel solenoid. It is a 12.5HP Briggs. It last ran last year(the fuel is fresh). When I remove the plug after trying to start the engine there is always strong fuel on the plug. My guess is the spark is strong to me (a NON-Mechanic), but maybe that is the key. My other suspicion is a safety switch like the seat switch is malfxning, but I direct wired that without benefit. Thanks, for thoughts, and I will try the fuel in the cylinder to see if that will work to rule out carb/intake issue.
