SourceQuestion : I have a 1996 T400 m11 cummins. It starts and runs fine until I get on road. Then it will run fine until about 1500rpm, then it only has about 1/2 power in surges. If I let off of the throttle and then give it full throttle again it will have good power momentarily then it goes back to surging. when I turn the key on the check engine light flashes and then I get a 1-2-3 code. is it my boost pressure sensor or what ? Answer : Hello yes the the intake manifold pressure sensor monitors intake manifold pressure and passes information to the electronic control module (ECM) through the sensor harness. If intake manifold pressure becomes too low, it will cause a possible derate condition. Component Location The intake manifold pressure sensor is located on the intake air manifold. This is a tricky code to trace due to the ecm’s involvement, you could put a manual gage in the intake and check to see if you do have boost before changing sensor.
