Question : I have a Toro LX425 riding lawnmower, when you turn the steering wheel it clicks bu t doesn’t turn the wheels. I replaced the steering gear pinion that was worn, but that didn’t help. When I look underneath, it is apparent that the pinion and the teeth on the steering arm don’t fully connect. Any suggestions would be helpful. Confused
Answer :
The problem is most likely the small steering shaft bushing that has worn out. This is located at the bottom of the steering shaft and is in the frame.
Also you should always replace BOTH gears, not just one.
