On his first national trip to begin building support for the legislation he signed Tuesday, Obama said the new law would be an economic boon, especially for small businesses.
“This is the reform that some folks in Washington are still hollering about, still shouting about,” Obama told a loud and friendly crowd of 3,000 in the University of Iowa Fieldhouse. “Now that we passed it, they’re already promising to repeal it. They’re actually going to run on a platform of repeal in November. And my attitude is: Go for it.”
But some Republican-leaning policy experts interviewed later described as insufficient even the law’s benefits that are aimed at helping small businesses pay for health insurance.
