Trade my John Deere 420 for a International 504 Utility ...

I had a gentlemen call me and was interested in a trade for my 420 for his International 504. It has a loader and rebuilt engine new water pump and new front tires. He admitted that he is a Deere guy and likes the 420 series. It seems to me that depending on the condition this is definitely a better trade for me. He will be sending pictures soon. My question is is there anything on this particular model to watch out for? Certain things that brake. Any advice you guys could give me would be appreciated. this tractor has a ta. that is a shift to high or low on the go make sure it works , check to see if the steering wheel has oil leaking from the manual hand pump it has a seal in side, all things wear with time, parts are hard to find but they are out there. or you can go to your local case ih dealer ,i have a ih utility 504 also, i like it.

ok my grand parients past away and my dad need to know how much to sell it for it is a john deere model: 420 has a good plow and a 60" mower deck good tires it is a 1990 can someone please give us an honest answer

    This tractor should be worth at the very least $1,000-$1,500 according to it's condition. You might could get $2,000. A New JD tractor this size and equipped is around $6,500 or more. I would check with your local John Deere dealer. They will give your best answer. Make sure you tell them you are not trading it in. I personally think you need to reconsider selling it. It would cost you big time to replace it. If it was mine I wouldn't sell it.
