Question : Yardman 791 with hydrostat – The brake sticks and have to rock it to disengage it and move forward again
Answer :
This might be a fairly easy thing to fix…I Hope…
Take some WD40 oil and spray it allover the brake arm at the transaxle. Then move the brake are back and forth at the transmission about 50 times./ This should loosen the brake arm and you should be done.
The next thing that you should know is what usually causes this problem.
the biggest reason that this happens is because most customers do not know that you should NEVER…EVER….UNDER ANY SIRCUMSTANCES…EVER…WAS ANY MOWER OR ANY PART OF ANY MOWER WITH WATER !!!!!!!
In addition you CANNOT EVER LEAVE ANY MOWER OUTSIDE IN THE WEATHER.!!!
It causes the same problems.
Also sometimes the batteries may be located near the brake and the batteries will sometimes leak acid onto the brake…causing corrosion and this can also stick the brake. Ther obviously can also be other things that can cause the brake to stick, but this is the usual problem. If you need further help, feel free to contact me here at this question and I will try to help further.
