WATERFORD - Walter Edward Klinger, 73, of Waterford, Ohio, died Friday, (Nov. 11, 2011) at his home. He was born on Nov. 8, 1938, in Marietta, to Walter and Alice Kern Klinger.
Walter was a Lowell High School graduate and was in the Army Reserves from February 1960 until August of 1965. He retired from BF Goodrich/JRF International in March of 2001, after 44 years of service, and was also a lifelong farmer. Walter was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Churchtown, the Holy Name Society, and the American Legion Post 750 in Lowell. He enjoyed farming with his John Deere equipment and loved watching his grandchildren grow up. He never missed a ball game, band event, or scholastic achievement, they were his greatest joy.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Rinard Klinger; one daughter, Anita Horner (Alan) of New Concord, Ohio; two sons, Steven Klinger (Rachel) of Waterford, and Stacy Klinger, of Waterford; seven grandchildren, Michelle and Mitchell Horner, and Matthew, Emily, Sarah, Isaac and Lydia Klinger; two sisters, Mary Canterbury (Rick) of Waterford, and Barbara Stevens (Dave) of Beverly, Ohio; one brother, Bernard Klinger (Sue) of Lowell, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
