The force then obtained a search warrant, issued by Judge Mark T. Musick to search the other parts of the property and found even more plants. In all there were seized the 242 plants, 2 cameras set up to monitor the property, a number of rifles, shotguns, and crossbows, a cub cadet riding mower, various tools, two campers, indoor halogen grow lights, generator, air compressor, various items of paraphenalia, including two large bongs. Participating from the Municipal Court were Chief Bailiff Donald “Ray” Venatter, Chief Deputy Derek Cales, accompanied by Probation Officer Vicki Harper, and Auxiliary Bailiff, Josh McCarter. Chief Deputy Jim Ephlin led the expedition along with Deputy Sgt. Tony Perdue, and Lt. Jim Manering. Coordinating the effort from dispatch was Deputy Patty McCarter. Chief Bailiff Ray Venatter says that this was a large indoor grow operation, which was thankfully put out of business. However, had the operation been discovered after the next round of deputy sheriff layoffs, then the security of the removal could have been compromised by the reduced manpower. I checked for weeds around the clutch, but didn’t see any. There is a clicking sound coming from the clutch when I operate the PTO knob. The pulley turns by hand but feels like I’m working against engine compression.
Answer : The problem may be a seized up pto clutch. The pto should spin with some resistance.
