To let you know how much I love spring is to say I hate winter just that much as well. I did not want to retire until I could leave for a warmer climate for about four months of the winter. Almost everyone I know goes south, but my husband keeps telling me I would miss my grandchildren. This might be a true statement, but I think I could make it through, and they would come visit anyway. I would have to be home the last of March, as I love to see my flowers come up and bloom. My oldest son bought me two lilac bushes about 25 years ago, and they are beautiful every year. We also look for plants we can add to enhance the blooming. We till and plant a vegetable garden every year starting about mid-April. We both love the fresh tomatoes, and plant many so we can share with neighbors and family. For many years, my husband has wanted a John Deere tractor/mower, and we could not see spending the money as long as our old Sear's tractor was still running. Something good happened last July -- the mower deck on the old Sear's tractor broke. Oh my, it just could not be fixed.
