Commissioners hear update on state 911 board
by Sheila KremerSheriff Jason Bechtold and Emergency Manager Jon Vavruska updated the Bon Homme County Commissioners on the meeting of the State 911 board at the commissioner's regular meeting November 3, 2009.
The State 911 Board voted 10-1 to have two dispatchers on duty in all 911 centers 24 hours a day beginning July 1, 2013. Bechtold is a member of the board and cast the lone dissenting vote. The proposal will go to the Legislative Rules Committee on November 18. Bechtold and Vavruska urged commissioners to contact area legislators regarding this matter and also to begin considering alternatives and solutions to staffing the 911 center if the Legislature passes this matter.
Present for the meeting were commissioners Jelsma, Hauck, VanGerpen, Pesek and Kokesh. Also present was Auditor Tamara Brunken and B&H Publishing representative Sheila Kremer.
Chairman Kokesh called the meeting to order at 9 a.m.
Sheriff Bechtold also requested proper expenses for Deputy Lenny Gramkow to attend a Sexual Predator training class in Aberdeen November 5. On passed motion, proper expenses were allowed for Gramkow... Source
