Watering the yard
The John Deere sprinkler does the job of watering the yard while following a wandering path to put the water where it is needed. I have p[ants to water and no grass in the yard. Somewhat disappointed in trying to water a narrow strip. When the nozzles are turned down 45º they tend to blast a circle around the tractor. As long as the nozzles are turned horizontal or up things work fine. Can't go around too tight of a corner or the inside wheel digs into the soft dirt and the tractor gets stalled. It is fun to sit on the deck and watch the tractor at work. It even attracts the attention of my neighbors Much better than going out and moving stationery sprinklers every hour or so. I like the heavy cast iron construction of the tractor and the two speed gearing.

Junk
The second time that I used this item, the plastic gears stripped out and the sprinkler ran for hours without moving. The tractor did not pull 20 feet of hose before the gears stripped. Also, the low gear is to slow. It runs for hours and hardly moves. I would never buy this item again. It is not worth the money and you can find better quality tractor sprinklers than this one.

Worked first couple of times, then bombed!
I should have checked amazon before I purchased this sprinkler from Lowes. It is exactly as everyone has reviewed on here. I loved the look, but once it was put in use, it quit moving. I think it is way too heavy to move around the yard on it's own, and I will not get to use it because I don't have time to go move it myself. I have to agree that $10 is probably more than adequate for this piece of junk.
