John Deere employees showed off their can do attitude for a cause. A lot of cans and hands made the can–struction possible. This isn't your usual John Deere combine. It's built entirely of canned food, and it took a lot of food to get the job done.
"When it was first pitched, I thought 'Wow, I cannot believe that we're going to build a combine out of 300,000 cans of food. I was really excited about it, but I have to admit it was a little intimidating," said Mara Sovey, President of the John Deere Foundation.
It took more than 500 John Deere workers nearly a week to finish the can–struction.
"When the project started to come together. We were more and more excited and realized that this is really a once in a lifetime type of opportunity. It really makes you proud to be a John Deere employee," said Sovey.
You can see the combine at the John Deere Pavilion until December 12th.
