Plant maintenance students from Duchy College Rosewarne have been getting to grips with a restoration project as part of their course this term.
The students, who are studying the plant maintenance Level 1 Certificate, are helping to restore two Massey Ferguson 135 tractors.
The tractors are from the early 70s and the aim is to reuse them in local rallies and hopefully present them at local shows in 2012.
Lecturer Danny Sellors explained: “The group have got off to a great start; they're working hard and doing well so far.
"At the moment we're removing the corroded and rotten body panels and the trumpet housing but there's a long way to go - the project is going to last about a year”
Kieran Mitchell, 17, from Illogan said: “I'm really enjoying taking the tractors apart and learning how they work.
"It's a fun project and it will be great to see the finished product.”
Wayne Badcock, 17, from Camborne added: “We're learning lots; it's really interesting and I'm looking forward to when we start doing the welding.”
