CLEARVIEW TWP. – Huronia West OPP officers have about a half-dozen break-ins on their hands, after thieves hit several sheds and a couple of vehicles on the weekend in Stayner.
According to police, the break-ins occurred between Sunday night and Tuesday morning.
Thieves got into several sheds at five residences on Margaret Street, making off with two laptop computers and an LCD flat screen computer monitor, a bottle of Crown Royal, a John Deere chain saw, a Stihl leaf blower, a digital torque wrench, and a 2000-watt generator with camouflage colouring.
Also, sometime between 1:30 and 6 a.m. on Monday, thieves broke into a vehicle parked at a Huron Street residence in Stayner, and snatched two cartons of Putters cigarettes.
A second vehicle parked on Huron Street was broken also broken into during that same time period; in that case, the thieves took a black and yellow DeWalt cordless reciprocating saw, and a black and yellow cordless skillsaw.
